Oregon State University Extension Service has formed a partnership with Food Share of Lincoln County and other non-profits behind a cooking charity project called Cooking Matters.
This program includes cooking instructional seminars and informational visits to local farmers markets. Participants learn new cooking techniques and proper food/safety handling. It conducts these programs in Spanish to reach Spanish speaking locals. The program was funded with a $25,000 grant from Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital and Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital.
