Oregon has made it into the top 10 for small businesses, according to a report by Homebase, a software company based in San Francisco. The findings show that the number of employees working in small businesses in Oregon increased by 4.4%, with their working hours rising by 9.8%.

This uptick in small business jobs contrasts with the significant layoffs reported in larger firms such as NIKE, Fred Meyer, and Intel. It reminds us that there are various indicators of job growth worth considering. Additionally, Oregon ranks among the highest in employee pay, boasting an average hourly wage of $15.66.

The state’s minimum wage is a key factor in this impressive wage figure. When it comes to small business friendliness, New York claimed the top spot, followed by California, New Jersey, Vermont, and Florida.
