A popular local taco shop in Redmond Oregon announced plans to expand to Bend. Less than a month later, the new location was robbed.
In June 2020, KTVZ announced that Lucy’s Taco Shop would expand their popular menu to a new location in Bend. Equipped with the brands first drive-thru, the new location meant an new way for the family owned business to reach customers.
Less than a month later, Lucy Taco Shop in Bend was robbed at gunpoint. While no employees were injured, they were prepared for what would come.
Three days after the initial robbery, the suspect who had remained at large, returned to rob Lucy’s Taco Shop again.
A Bend Police Officer was in the right place at the right time as he witnessed several employees of the restaurant chasing a subject who matched the description from the previous robbery.
24 year old Sharena Miller-Warner was found by police hiding behind a storage area nearby. Wearing the same clothing as three days prior, the Miller-Warner was found with a handgun, cash, and a credit card reader Lucy’s Taco Shop was found with a handgun, cash and a credit card reader. She was arrested with two counts of first-degree robbery, menacing, and five counts of unlawful use of a weapon.
